Dr. Kamal Boraiqa Abdelsalam Hassan is a distinguished scholar, a professor and motivational speaker having an expertise in Islamic Studies. He is an international expert in Interfaith Dialogue and Combating Extremism. He has a BA in Islamic Studies in English and Masters of Arts from Al-Azhar University in Cairo. Moreover, he also holds a Ph.D. from Al-Azhar University in Egypt. Currently, he is an Assistant Professor at Al Azhar University and teaching in the International Islamic University, Islamabad on deputation basis.
Previously, he worked as a General Coordinator of Al-Azhar Center for Interfaith and Intercultural Dialogue, Member of the African Union Interfaith Forum, and the Steering Committee to link policy makers with religious leaders and institutions for six years. He has also worked as the Head of the Observation and Suggestion Committee at the Egyptian Family House, one of the unique Egyptian initiatives of the Grand Imam of Al-Azhar to bring the Muslim Leaders and the prominent figures from the Coptic Church institutions.
Dr. Kamal’s thesis during the Master of Arts was about Muslim-Christian Interfaith Dialogue; History and Nature. Moreover, his thesis during Ph.D. was about the “Contribution of Abbas Mahmoud AL-‘Aqqad (the Giant of Arabic literature) to Comparative Religion.
Dr. Kamal is a former Chevening Fellow in 2006 in Birmingham University at Department of Muslim Christian Relations and he was also the Imam of Santa Rosa Islamic Center, San Francisco, California, U.S.A. 2007.
Dr. Kamal Boraiqa Abdelsalam Hassan has also represented Al-Azhar in many international conferences including the United Nations, the European Parliament, OSCE, the European Commission in Egypt and Pakistan, the Arab League, World Muslim League, Alliance of Civilization of the UN, and the Association of Southeast Asian Nations in Egypt (ASEAN).
